About text, iMessage, & WhatsApp sharing

When you tap “Text it to a friend” or “Send on WhatsApp” on a Trendosity list, we open your phone's built-in messaging app with a pre-filled message and your list link. You then choose the recipient and tap send — Trendosity never sees the recipient, never sees the message after you send it, and never sends a message on your behalf.
What you should know
Standard messaging rates may apply. Any text (SMS or MMS) you send is governed by your mobile carrier's plan. If your plan does not include unlimited messaging, your carrier may charge you for each message you send or receive. Trendosity does not pay for and cannot control those charges.
WhatsApp uses your data plan. Messages sent through WhatsApp travel over your internet connection (cellular data or Wi-Fi). Standard data rates from your carrier may apply if you are not on Wi-Fi.
You control the recipient. Trendosity does not have your contacts list when you tap share. Your phone's native messaging app picks the recipient — we have no way to read who you sent the message to.
You can edit the message before sending. The pre-filled text is a suggestion. You can change any of it (or all of it) in your messaging app before you tap send.
Trendosity does not send marketing SMS. We never send promotional or marketing text messages from our own systems. The only SMS you will ever see related to Trendosity is one that you yourself tapped “send” on from your phone.
Recipients can opt out by ignoring you. Because we are not sending the message, there is no STOP / HELP keyword to reply to. If a recipient does not want messages from you, that is between the two of you — exactly as it would be for any other text you send.
TCPA & consent
The U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. § 227) and analogous laws in other jurisdictions regulate automated messaging. Trendosity does not use automated dialing or send messages on your behalf — every message originates from your device, addressed to a recipient you chose. You are responsible for ensuring you have the recipient's permission to text them, just as you would be for any other message you send from your phone.
International & roaming
If you are roaming or sending to an international number, your carrier's international or roaming rates apply. Trendosity links work the same in every country, but the cost of delivering the message is determined by your carrier.
Languages
Pre-filled messages are currently provided in English. Additional languages are planned. When more languages are available, the pre-filled message will match your selected app language.
